Sisal vs cardboard cat scratchers: a retailer’s guide
Compare the scratching surface, product format and sample checks before adding a design to your range.
Start with the surface
Sisal rope is wrapped around the balls and posts in this collection. Corrugated board exposes layered edges in sofas and dens. Compare the actual sample rather than assuming one material will suit every cat. We have not published comparative wear tests.
Compare the whole construction
A sisal wheel, a hanging mat and a cardboard sofa occupy different spaces. Check the frame, base, usable surface and outer dimensions separately. A sisal label does not identify every component; a cat-house shell may contain another board material.
Approve a sample and its packing
Ask for the exact material specification, assembly instructions and packing for the selected design. Keep corrugated board dry. For rope products, inspect loose fibres and fastenings. Confirm carton measurements and shipping terms on the quotation; material alone does not establish freight cost or product life.
Choose the exact design and size. Include quantity per option and the delivery country. Ask us to confirm MOQ, sample costs, carton dimensions, packing and lead time.
Replacement parts are model-specific. A replacement ball or bed surface does not include the complete frame. Confirm compatibility before ordering.
